Best NBA Player Props Today - November 6

The NBA tips off a new week with a jam-packed schedule with 12 games on the board. That means there will be no shortage of options when it comes to NBA player props.

There looks like there is some value in the NBA odds when looking at Cole Anthony’s assist prop, fading the Wizards’ disappearing act on defense, and the fact that Brandon Ingram has struggled with his shooting from deep so far this season.

Here are my best NBA picks in the player prop market for today.

Best NBA player props today

  • Anthony Over 3.5 asts (+132 at FanDuel)
  • Oubre Jr. Over 2.5 threes (+135 at bet365)
  • Ingram Under 24.5 pts (-110 at DraftKings)

NBA player props for November 6

Prop bet #1: Anthony's Magic hour

The Orlando Magic will try to keep their solid start to the season going when they welcome Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks to town tonight.

The Magic are hoping this is the year they take that step forward and so far, so good. Orlando is 4-2 thanks in large part to ranking second in the NBA when it comes to defensive rating and some impressive depth with 11 players logging at least 11 minutes per game.

Unfortunately, that depth will be hurt a bit tonight as Markelle Fultz is out with a knee injury. But that creates a betting opportunity for backcourt mate Cole Anthony.

Now, Anthony has never been known as much of a playmaker and is averaging just 2.5 assists per Game this season. But in the two Games without Fultz, Anthony has dished out eight dimes and I like his chances of keeping that up against the Mavs.

While Dallas is also off to a good start at 5-1, defense still looks like it will be an issue for this team. The Mavericks rank 22nd in defensive rating, 24th in opponent effective field goal percentage, and 25th in opponent assists per game.

The combination of the Mavs' soft defense, Fultz being out, and the expectation of this being a close game (the Magic are slight 1.5-point home favorites), should equate to more opportunities for Anthony to rack up assists and go Over the 3.5 number. The plus money is the cherry on top.

Cole Anthony prop: Over 3.5 assists (+132 at FanDuel)

Prop bet #2: Oubre from downtown!

I feel like picking on the Washington Wizards is going to be a theme for me this season. So, you know we’re going to have a bet fading them when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Wizards don’t look like a serious NBA team at the moment, particularly when you look at the effort they are putting in at the defensive end of the floor. Washington ranks 29th in defensive rating and is dead last in its opponent's effective field goal percentage.

But where the Wiz really have no magic is on the perimeter. Washington is allowing opponents to shoot a league-worst 40.4 3-point attempts per game while ranking 28th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage (39.6%). And now they’ll have to deal with one of the most efficient offenses in the NBA.

The Sixers rank fifth in offensive rating 10th in effective field percentage and sixth in 3-point shooting percentage.

Now, obviously, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey have been the biggest beneficiaries of Nick Nurse’s offense. But another player thriving is journeyman wing, Kelly Oubre Jr.

Nurse has clearly told Oubre to let it fly from beyond the arc this season. The 27-year-old is taking the second-most threes per game for the Sixers at 5.8 per game and hitting 44.8% of those attempts. And to be fair, Oubre is a streaky shooter and that hasn’t changed this season.

He is 13-for-19 from deep in three of Philly’s games and 0-for-10 in the other two. But as noted, the Wizards aren't going to put up much resistance. Oubre’s 3-pointers made prop is sitting at 2.5. The Over has a +135 price tag and that’s good enough to back him in this great matchup.

Kelly Oubre Jr. prop: Over 2.5 made threes (+135 at bet365)

Prop bet #3: Ice-cold Ingram

It appeared the new pecking order for the New Orleans Pelicans is set. Zion Williamson is looking pretty great now that he is Healthy, and CJ McCollum was obviously the team’s go-to sharpshooter. This made Brandon Ingram option No. 3. But unfortunately, McCollum will be out for the foreseeable future with a collapsed lung.

So, Ingram will have to shoulder more of the scoring load. However, the Pels' small forward hasn't had the best start to the season shooting the basketball. And I think that provides an opportunity for NBA prop bettors tonight when they visit the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets.

Ingram, shockingly, has already missed three Games this season with a knee injury. But in the three Games he's played, he's attempted 15 field goals per Game. He hasn’t averaged fewer than 17.7 per Game since becoming a member of the Pels.

So, as a result, Ingram is averaging just 20.3 points per Game. He’s also begun the year ice-cold from beyond the arc, hitting just 22.2% of his attempts from deep. But now that he's going to be expected to put up some more shots without McCollum, does that mean his point total should jump up to 24.5? I don't think so.

This is particularly true as he goes against a Nuggets team that has been solid at the defensive end of the floor to start the season because Denver ranks sixth in defensive rating and fifth in opponent-effective field goal percentage.

He’s only gone Over this number once this season. And with a tough defensive matchup, this looks like a bit of an over-adjustment to the news that McCollum will be out for a while. The Under looks like a solid play here tonight.

Brandon Ingram prop: Under 24.5 points (-110 at DraftKings)
