Brazil defeat for Real Madrid’s Endrick clears up his Olympic Games dilemma

Image
Real Madrid had one eye on the South American Clásico , a Brazil-Argentina match in which a place in the next Olympic Game s in Paris was on the line . In the end, it was Mascherano’s Argentina that booked their place at the Game s and Brazil, champions of the Olympics in the last two editions, will miss out. On the Madrid side of the divide, however, the loss for the Gold Medal holders is seen as one less problem . Endrick will no longer have to make the difficult decision of choosing to attend the Olympics or participate in Madrid’s pre-season campaign. In any case, as AS understood, the 17-year-old’s entourage had already thought of putting the ball in Madrid’s court, who wanted to keep him. Even if Brazil had qualified, it would have been very strange to see Endrick in Paris . But with the defeat , the question is answered. Oooo tempo…😓🥰 pic.twitter.com/35xM1A20uk — Endrick (@Endrick) February 10, 2024 Endrick is a star in Brazil and beyond Endrick comes out strong f...

Chelsea's best and worst players in defeat to Wolves

Image
Another week, another defeat for Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea . The Christmas Eve loss to Wolves was, shockingly, the Blues' 19th of 2023, and it once again came thanks to a disastrous mix of frugality in attack and silly errors in the defensive third. Mario Lemina opened the scoring for Wolves in the 51st minute before Matt Doherty bagged a 93rd-minute goal to seal the win for the home side, with Christopher Nkunku's 96th-minute strike proving too little, too late for Pochettino's men. Here's Chelsea's best and worst player s from the Game , according to 90min's player ratings. Erik ten Hag explains how Man Utd game plan unravelled in derby defeat

Image
Erik ten Hag has claimed his Game plan for the Manchester derby was going "how we wanted" before United limped to a 3-0 defeat to rivals City on Sunday. The Red Devils started brightly in the opening ten minutes at Old Trafford but then fell behind to Erling Haaland's penalty midway through the first half as the gap in quality began to show. United may have gone into half-time on level terms had Scott McTominay not been denied by City goalkeeper Ederson but instead the deficit grew when Haaland grabbed his second in the 49th minute. The performance from Ten Hag's side dropped off during the second half as City asserted their dominance with a third from Phil Foden late on. Although he would not give an opinion on the decision from referee Paul Tierney, Ten Hag pointed towards the awarding of a penalty for Rasmus Hojlund's pull on Rodri as the turning point in the match. Four takeaways from Man Utd's defeat to Bayern Munich

Image
Manchester United's Champions League campaign got off to a hectic start as they fell 4-3 to Bayern Munich in Germany. While the scoreline suggests a narrow affair, United struggled to keep up with Bayern and had a late double from Casemiro to thank for making the scoreline appear more favourable. The pressure has ramped up for manager Erik ten Hag. Here are four things we learned from United's defeat . Andre Onana has work to do Onana was at fault / James Gill - Danehouse/GettyImages There's no point piling on Andre Onana. The goalkeeper has already admitted he was at fault for Bayern's opening goal and accepted he has not been good enough since making his move to United this summer. It's an admirable stance but you can't ignore the facts. 14 goals conceded from six Game s which have seen several shaky moments is simply not good enough and fans may have to be patient before they see the best from Onana. It brings back memories to David de Gea's early month...
