Fortnite Confirms Attack On Titan Crossover With Eren Yeager Tease

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is about to come to an end and by the weekend, we'll all be playing season two. The start of a new season usually brings a handful of new crossovers along with it, and the rumors one of those crossovers will finally bring Attack on Titan to Fortnite's island have now been confirmed via an official image from Epic Games.

The backdrop of the image, shared by Hypex, leans into the neo-Tokyo theme season two is reported to have following the discovery of some teaser images shared by the Game's dataminers. It's the crossover character standing in the foreground that has sent Fortnite Twitter ablaze though. Confirmation that Attack On Titan is indeed coming in season two, and Eren Yeager will be the one leading its charge.

While some of you appear to be surprised Yeager is the first character to be officially revealed as part of Fortnite's incoming collab, earlier leaks suggested this would be the case. In fact, Yeager was the only character named in the leaks. Other Fortnite crossovers have introduced a handful of characters at the same time, so it's likely Attack on Titan's original protagonist won't be the only character from the anime to join The Loop in season two.

Confirmation of the crossover continues a trend of Epic going heavy with its anime collaborations in Fortnite, and for good reason. It tested the waters with Dragon Ball last year, resulting in the announcement becoming Fortnite's most-liked tweet in just 13 hours. Dragon Ball has crossed over with Fortnite again since then, and elements and characters from Naruto and My Hero Academia have also joined the Game.

There was confusion earlier this week over when exactly season two will begin. Epic cleared up that confusion, confirming downtime for season two will start during the early hours of Friday morning. We now know the season will be called Mega and that it will feature Attack on Titan elements, plus, if the Shockwave Hammer stays vaulted, the controversial weapon might not be coming with us.
